My Review of Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn):

'Wazzup, my fellow enthusiasts, Michael of ‘Heroes of Games & Comics’ here to further educate, enlighten, and entertain y’all with my insights, reviews, and reactions to other opinions & the evaluation of cinematic entertainment, graphic literature, and Dungeons & Dragons! Today I will be focusing upon the new movie 'Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)', and like the title suggests it's mostly about Harleen Quinzel, with Renée Montoya having the second most screen time, and unfortunately Helena Bertanelli/Huntress having the least. In my opinion Helena had most fascinating story that one would actually want to follow, hell, even the other characters imply and say how interesting and badass she is.

In all honesty the movie didn't make me care about its characters other that Helena, Harleen was funny, ultra violent, and occasionally vulnerable but still she didn't really make me care or worry about her. Like instead of Plot Armour she had Plot Leniency. And Yes, I did empathize with Harleen and that was nice, but she didn't need me to be worried or anything else but try enjoy her John Wick enhanced combat scenes and Domino lucky moments. The colourfulness, accents, randomness, and bizarre narrative style were all decent, if one hasn't watched examples of these before then this movie provides you with a good first impression, but I am sorta bored of witnessing this style by now.

The least annoying character was Dinah Lance/Black Canary, her story was relatably vulnerable and strong, one can really like this character working alongside Huntress. Personally if there was a movie only about the Birds of Prey (Oracle/Batgirl, Black Canary, and Huntress) I would have been very satisfied with that proper unwasted focus, but this is what we got.

Harleen's story was a bittersweet one, it starts off sad and ends up joyful, essentially like Bruce Wayne, almost identical via reductive plot points. Hell, even Harleen gets an apprentice by the end of movie, her type of Robin.

I suppose the movie was excellent if one doesn't think and feel too critically. At least it ends happier than John Wick, sorta like Deadpool.

If you like Hyenas, Observing Lana Del Rey's Lyrics In Action, an Empowering Post Break-Up movid before Valentine's Day happen then you're in luck; and if you're hoping for something different as Joker/Harley Criminal Insanity, Kimetsu No Yaiba or New Mutants don't expect too much from Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

'One More Thing, Jackie(!)', Birds of Prey t-shirts are soon arrived at our shirts normal and we currently a few varieties of Harley Quinn Funko pops priced at R250 each.
